Plone Foundation Elects Six Feet Up's CTO as President

Plone Foundation Board Elects Officers for 2010-2011

Calvin Hendryx-Parker

Calvin Hendryx-Parker has been named the President of the Plone Foundation, along with officers in Bristol (UK), Davis (CA) and Houston (TX). The Plone Content Management System is among the top 2% of all open source projects worldwide, with 340 core developers and more than 300 solution providers in 57 countries.

Hendryx-Parker is the CTO and Co-Founder of Six Feet Up, Inc., a WBENC certified Women's Business Enterprise based in Fortville, Indiana, that specializes in Plone and Python-based development, hosting and deployment. The company has assisted local organizations, such as Notre Dame University and the Indiana Historical Society, as well as international companies, such as Oxfam and the Open Society Foundations.

Hendryx-Parker is enthusiastic about his election: "One of the best things about the Plone Foundation is that it includes members from all over the world, not just a few  centers of technology.  Its a community where people can see the work we do and know that Indiana is a place that is making serious contributions to how people build and use the web."

Hendryx-Parker, who grew up in New Palestine, IN, and is a Purdue University graduate, is a well-known speaker and evangelist in the tech community. Hendryx-Parker spent his first working years in the Silicon Valley before moving back to Indiana to grow his company.

Looking forward to the next year, Hendryx-Parker is upbeat.  "I am happy to serve on the board of this important open source project foundation. Indiana has plenty of high tech talent and is definitely on the map from the perspective of the open source movement, which provides software and development tools that are used around the world."
