This talk promises an understanding of the historical significance of solar eclipses, coupled with essential guidance for safe observation. More than just an astronomical phenomenon, the session will shed light on the latest advancements in solar research.
Attendees will gain insights into how technology is reshaping our perception and knowledge of the Sun, blending the awe of celestial events with the innovation of modern science. Ready yourself for a journey that merges the intrigue of the cosmos with the sophistication of AI and Python, revealing new perspectives on our solar system's very heart.
8:30 - 8:45pm: Door Prizes
8:45 - 9pm: Networking & General Discussion
Guests are more than welcome to attend, but please have each person RSVP on their own Meetup account.
Jack Reynolds is a Machine Learning Engineer at Securitas Technology, formerly Stanley Security. A Fishers, Indiana native, Jack began his data science career when he took on the task of analyzing big data for a South Bend start-up as a senior in high school. With a fellowship in astrophysics in hand, Jack headed to Purdue University where he taught himself Python in his dorm room to prepare for his next big adventure.
Jack found that his newfound skills in data science and his passion for astrophysics quickly developed into the perfect match. He dove into using Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a method to study novel Deep Learning methods for understanding transient phenomena in astrophysics with an emphasis on core-collapse supernovas. Jack now spends his days using AI to drive the best customer experience possible and his nights on his back porch in Iowa City taking pictures of the cosmos.
Organized by Six Feet Up, the Indianapolis Python Meetup (“IndyPy”) is a leading national group promoting the Python programming language and connecting the Python community. IndyPy draws Python enthusiasts from the entire Midwest (and beyond via Zoom) for regular events. In 2022, we celebrated 15 years of success with over 2,400 members.
