When Truth Initiative, the nonprofit behind one of the nation’s most recognizable anti-tobacco campaigns, launched a high-stakes health site, speed was critical. They needed to push timely, accurate content without flooding the dev team with tickets—or risking design drift.
The solution: A CMS configured to empower editors. By combining StreamFields, snippets, and custom page models, Wagtail gave editors creative freedom while ensuring the design system stayed intact.
This talk will explore:
Attendees will learn how to design CMS experiences that turn bottlenecks into autonomy—freeing developers to focus on complex work while editors confidently own publishing. For organizations under pressure to deliver, this approach transforms Wagtail into more than a CMS—it becomes a strategic advantage.

Campaigns often require multiple landing pages—one for every platform, channel, or audience. For Truth Initiative, this quickly became unmanageable, forcing editors to maintain dozens of nearly identical pages.
We built a dynamic Wagtail landing page that tracks users based on the last URL segment (e.g., /youtube
, /facebook
). Ability for A/B testing was also included to help test different features against a percentage of the audience. Editors now manage a single page design for tailoring text, CTAs, and creative assets.
This session covers:
Attendees will walk away with a model for tackling personalization and scale—without drowning in duplicate content.
Wagtail Space is a free, flexible, three-day virtual event (Oct. 8–10, 2025) for people who are improving the world through code and content. The first two days feature talks and networking sessions, while the final day is dedicated to community connection and contributions to Wagtail — the open source CMS loved by developers and editors alike.
