Gabrielle Hendryx-Parker, Six Feet Up’s CEO and co-founder, discussed the challenges and opportunities facing women in tech during a special all-women’s edition of Inside INdiana Business. Guest hosted by Lauren Peterson of TechPoint, Hendryx-Parker was joined by Ariel Crawley of Indy Women in Tech and Linda Calvin of Ivy Tech Community College on the INsiders panel.
“The best staff you can have is a gender balanced staff,” said Hendryx-Parker. “We’ve always put a lot of emphasis on having as many women as possible.”
Six Feet Up, a certified women-owned software company powered by the EOS Process™, uses a data-driven approach to hiring. Specifically, before reviewing skills on a resume, Six Feet Up asks potential employees to take personality tests — a process which helps ensure a non-biased approach to hiring.
During the panel, the women shared personal stories about their tech journeys and addressed what the Hoosier community can do to help other women and minorities succeed in the tech sector.
