When the Washington State Budget and Policy Center ran into performance issues with their Plone site, they turned to Six Feet Up's hosting expertise.
Six Feet Up first patched a memory leak and made a few other optimizations to the site, such as reducing the internal checks Python makes and the amount of interaction the site needs with the hard disk. Both of these optimizations significantly freed up resources for the site to be served more efficiently.
The Washington State Budget and Policy Center then decided to move their site from a Rackspace unmanaged environment, where it was largely underpowered, to a Cloud-hosted Virtual Machine (VM) in one of Six Feet Up's colocation facilities.
The non-profit also opted for Six Feet Up's managed services, therefore enjoying backups, 24 hour monitoring and the peace of mind that their site is supported by Plone experts.
Six Feet Up is now the Washington State Budget and Policy Center's single point of contact for all of their Plone hosting maintenance and support needs.
