The November 2021 edition of IndyAWS — Indiana’s fastest growing cloud meetup founded in 2017 by Six Feet Up CTO and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Community Hero Calvin Hendryx-Parker — hosted a presentation by fellow AWS Community Hero, Margaret Valtierra. As a self-proclaimed introvert who has been to re:Invent and survived, Margaret shared her tips and tricks for getting the most out of the most wonderful time of the AWS year.

Her tips include tactics for learning, recharging, sharing and socializing at re:Invent. Specifically, in addition to making the most out of smaller breakout rooms and discussions with fellow AWS enthusiasts, Margaret recommends that people:

• prioritize their time (e.g., aggressively manage their schedules),
• be open to learn, and
• recap to remember.
