On July 28th and 29th, 2009, representatives from OSI, Eurasia Foundation, and Oxfam Great Britain met in New York City to discuss the future of the KARL Project. The KARL project is a collaboration between OSI, Agendaless Consulting, Six Feet Up, and other interested parties. KARL is an intranet solution integrated with simple knowledge management tools.
OSI, Eurasia, and Oxfam Great Britain shared their experiences using KARL. All parties present discussed future features they would like to see. As the premier KARL hosting provider, Six Feet Up was there to advise on the Hosting Platform and discuss ongoing support options for organizations using KARL.
KARL is an open source project but it is currently owned by OSI. The group discussed plans to review different governance structures. Forming a foundation or consortium would allow interested parties to more easily access and use the KARL software.
