Six Feet Up is pleased to announce the latest version of its Plone 4 Demo Site.
In response to web visitors' feedback, the new Plone Demo Site now features a blog product for Plone (collective.blog.star), which can be activated via the add-on install menu. This blog product has been powering the Six Feet Up blog since the company migrated from Zine earlier this year.
Additionally, a new feedback widget powered by GetSatisfaction allows Plone Demo Site users to submit ideas, questions, problems and/or praises that then get aggregated in an online forum for follow-up conversations. "We look forward to feedback from our visitors as they will help us provide an outstanding Demo Site for Plone", says Six Feet Up CEO Gabrielle Hendryx-Parker.
Most questions received so far pertain to the fact that many users are often logged-in and customizing the site at the same time, which can surprise at first. In order to give visitors a sense of the ongoing activity, a user counter was added to the site's header. Visitors are also encouraged to click the Guided Tour link to create their own sandbox where their changes won't conflict with other users' edits.
Lastly, the Plone Demo Site has been protected from users changing the homepage look and feel on the fly. While this is still a feature available on other pages, this answers many requests for a more consistent experience.
