RevSys and Six Feet Up have recently completed a massive Django upgrade, going from Django 1.7 to 3.2 and from Python 2.7 to Python 3.
Security and regulatory compliance is of the highest priority to any business, so running outdated versions of Python and Django posed a major threat to the client's operations.
Wanting to keep their experienced Python developers focused on feature developments, the client requested help from RevSys and Six Feet Up with the upgrade work. The two teams did not only complete the Django migration, but also assisted in modernizing the developer story with the use of Docker containers and Docker Compose. The project was completed with a smooth handoff and ample documentation so that the client’s team could handle maintenance going forward.
