Six Feet Up is pleased to announce it helped The Translational Pathology Laboratory (TPL) in the UNC School of Medicine optimize their intranet.
TPL leverages the open source Plone CMS to distribute work orders for its laboratory. The intranet is absolutely key to TPL’s core processes as it controls how work orders move through the system via a custom workflow, and is used to generate invoices.
Six Feet Up carried out a technical audit of TPL’s system and developed a series of recommendations. The team is helping the lab bring their intranet up to speed on patches and improve site performance. There is also a plan for Six Feet Up to help migrate the system to a new hosting infrastructure within TPL's own colocation facility.
In addition, Six Feet Up added new fields to multiple online forms so as to streamline end-of-the-month billing activities. Through the added form logic, TPL is looking to reclaim quite a bit of time spent each month on invoices.
