Sophisticated website and intranet solutions provider to compete for Indiana's top technology honors in the Information Technology Service Excellence & Innovation category.
INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 15, 2013 - Six Feet Up, a developer of advanced websites, intranets, and applications for higher education and corporations, has been selected by an independent panel of judges to compete for the state's top technology honors – the TechPoint Mira Awards presented by BKD. Six Feet Up is competing in the Information Technology Service Excellence & Innovation category for it's innovative client partnerships, excellent service, and involvement in both the central Indiana community and the open source community.
Six Feet Up is being recognized in part for its development of custom website content management tools. Lineage, SolrIndex and PushHub were created by Six Feet Up for enterprises and higher education to enhance the open source Plone platform for sophisticated and fully integrated websites. Lineage enables large organizations to create separate microsites and assign control while keeping everything connected back to the main site. SolrIndex enables the usage of Solr, an enterprise search platform from the Apache LuceneTM project, in Plone-based websites. PushHub is an open source implementation in Pyramid of Google's PubSubHubbub protocol for sharing content amongst many servers.
“We are honored to be recognized by TechPoint as one of the top Information Technology service providers in the state.” said Gabrielle Hendryx-Parker, CEO and founder, Six Feet Up. “This further validates our approach to delivering sophisticated solutions for large web projects while giving back to the community and providing a results-oriented yet human-friendly work environment to our employees.”
TechPoint Mira Awards recognize excellence and innovation through the achievement of Indiana’s outstanding technology industry performers and contributors, and focuses attention on the broader issue of the important role technology plays in Indiana’s economy. This year’s finalists criss-cross the marketplace from established corporations and major research universities to fledgling startups, and from creative agencies to cutting edge mobile and emerging technologies.
“Indiana’s tech sector and startup communities have grown and evolved into powerful economic forces that extend well beyond our state borders, and they are drawing national attention ranging from IPOs and acquisitions to a recent White House visit,” said Mike Langellier, president and CEO of TechPoint. “The Mira Awards celebrate these achievements and in doing so have helped past recipients in material ways, such as delivering $1 million in new revenue and opening the door to new Fortune 500 clients.”
The winner in each category will be revealed at an energy-infused, black-tie, “Oscars-style” award ceremony, dinner and afterparty being held Saturday, April 20, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. For more information about the Mira Awards Gala, visit http://www.techpoint.org/mira.
